Dear Reader,

My first home at Harlequin/Silhouette was with Intimate Moments when I sold my debut romance, JENNY’S CASTLE, to them, then I move over to Harlequin American. I am thrilled to be back where I began with this dynamic line of books.

In the past few years, I’ve reinvented my writing career and taken on subjects I never dreamed I’d be writing about. For instance, in my upcoming romantic suspense for Intimate Moments, BAPTISM IN FIRE, I’m burning up people, buildings and anything else that gets in the way of my twisted, serial-arsonist villain. Not bad for a gal whose dad, brothers and grandfathers were all firemen and who, despite that, didn’t know the first thing about incendiary devices, points of origin and the technical name for the big fire trucks with the hydraulic ladders that rescue people out of high-rise apartment buildings. With the help of two very well-versed experts, I learned and had a wonderful time doing it. Now, I can set fires with the best of them, but don’t let that get around.

In BAPTISM IN FIRE, you’ll meet the ladies of F.I.S.T. – Fire Investigation Special Team, Rachel Sutherland and Samantha Ellis. I hope to write more books featuring these ladies and future recruits to F.I.S.T. and their hot adventures into the world of arson and crime, but always with an unimaginable love waiting for them in the end.

Another change for me is that I started writing light paranormal for Medallion Press, another drastic departure from anything I’ve ever done before. I’m happy to say that my first book, MIRACLE IN THE MIST, has had a wonderful reception and was chosen as the winner of the Romantic Times 2006 Reviewers Choice Award. Although I don’t think I’ll ever delve into the darker side of the paranormals, I do enjoy the change from straight, non-magical romances.
